On the fourth Monday evening every month, we host a gathering of storytelling, music, and community. We call it Monday Night Joyfest. We meet at Gyros on the Spit at 2826 N Lincoln Avenue. Doors open at 6:00 and we wrap at 9:30.
Each month is a little different. The storytellers will change, the musicians will change, the guests will change. But what remains is that this is an excellent place to connect with like-minded Chicagoans. We are interested in the similarities in our stories, not the differences. We tell stories to amuse, to heal, and to learn that we all have joy, sorrow, hardship, and success.
Our host generously sets up an eat-what-you-like Greek buffet for each event. It costs $15, payable the night of at the venue. There is also a cash bar available. Come enjoy the best gyros we’ve ever had and a craft beer while you’re at it.
We welcome anyone of any background or skill level to tell a story- you might just have to wait your turn. Please get in touch with us and let us know you’re interested. We’d love to have you.
Want to come to our next one? Find out when the next one is via Eventbrite. Look under the heading “Live Events” for all of the next Joyfest details.
See you there!
